Naoya Inoue arrived this Wednesday to the United States in the last preparation phase for his fight against Michael Dasmarinas next Saturday, June 19th. The World Boxing Association (WBA) Bantamweight Super Champion will defend his belt against the Filipino boxer in the main fight of the Top Rank event, and the boxing world is ready to see him again on American soil.
The Japanese, who also holds the IBF belt, will be making his third fight in the United States and only his fourth outside of Japan. However, his fame has spread around the world thanks to his skills.
“I am in perfect condition and I hope to show my best performance to the world,” he told journalist Joe Koizumi before his departure.
Inoue is one of the best pound-for-pound fighters today. He is 28 years old and is undefeated in 20 fights, 17 of them won by KO.
He will face Dasmarinas, a fighter who has not lost a fight since 2014 and has a record of 30 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 20 KOs.
