Jermell Charlo is one of the great super welterweight fighters. The upcoming challenge posed by the unification fight against World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Champion Jeison Rosario is a tough test for the American boxer.
The promotional activities for the fight next September 26th in Uncasville, Connecticut, are in full swing and this week an open workout was held, which was broadcast through Premier Boxing Champions’ YouTube account.
“I am excited and ready for September 26th. This is the time to prevail and for me and my brother to be the Charlo Twins. It’s time to be the best Jermell Charlo”, said about him and his brother, who will also be fighting in that event.
Charlo saw his undefeated record blemish in 2018 when he lost to Tony Harrison. But for him, that was an experience that has helped him continue to improve: “I’m in weight and I’m hitting hard. Last year I got over that loss in 2018, but there were still things I needed to learn and develop. We’re going to end 2020 with a bang”.
The American boxer spoke about Charlo’s fight and his intention to keep the belts.
“Rosario had his chance and won the titles, but I always felt that I was the best fighter in the division. When I’m at my best, I don’t see anyone who can compete with me. I always wanted all the belts and I knew I had to take them from someone”, said the 30-year-old boxer.
