Juergen Braehmer of Germany knocked out Pawel Glazewski of Poland in the first round with a left to the liver and retained his WBA light heavyweight title on Saturday.
The fight was over after 43 seconds, when Braehmer cornered Glazewski and landed a vicious left hook to the liver that had the Pole wincing in pain and on his knees. He failed to make the count.
Braehmer improved to 45-2, with 33 KOs, while Glazewski fell to 23-3.
The German said he was “very well prepared and concentrated.”
