Germany’s Agit Kabayel and his American challenger for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Heavyweight title, Kevin Johnson, held their official press conference before their fight on Saturday at the Seebühne Elbauenpark in Magdeburg, Germany.
The 28-year-old undefeated Kabayel will make the first defense of the belt he won in July 2020 by defeating Greek Evgenios Lazaridis. The continental champion spoke to the press and talked about the comments of his opponent, who claims he is going to knock him out.
“I’m more of a cool-toned guy. I don’t like Johnson’s swear words, that’s ‘American style’. In the ring he won’t have a microphone, so his fists will do the talking,” said Kabayel.
Johnson was a little more direct and assured that he will finish the fight by a knockout over the German boxer.
“On Saturday all the storms will hit Kabayel in the ring, hurricanes, tornadoes, tsunamis; he won’t be able to run away from me and the judges won’t have a job. There is only a knockout victory for me!” said the American.
The weigh-in ceremony will be this Friday, which is the last step before the fight. Kabayel has 20 wins, no losses, and 13 KOs. The veteran Johnson has 35 wins, 17 losses, 1 draw, and 19 KOs.
