Kono vs Kameda were ordered to begin negotiation for their mandatory 115 lbs super flyweight title fight of the World Boxing Association.
The Championships Committee, chaired by Gilberto Jesús Mendoza announced the decision. Both parties were notified of the beginning of the 30-day-period to reach an agreement that shall be notified as indicated in the regulation.
In the case they do not to reach an agreement, then the Championships Committee will open the fight to Purse bid.
Kono is the champion since March 26, 2014, has a record of 30-8-1, 13 KO’s while Kameda has 33-1, 18 KO’s.
