Erislandy Lara and Thomas Lamanna will fight for the World Boxing Association (WBA) vacant Middleweight world title on May 1st, in Carson, California.

The bout will take place on the undercard of the Premier Boxing Champions event, with Andy Ruiz’ comeback against Chris Arreola as the main fight of the evening.

Lara is currently the Super Welterweight Champion but will be seeking his third world title in a second division. The Cuban is one of the fighters with the best technique in these divisions and is the favorite to win the black and gold belt of the pioneer organization.

Lamanna, on the other hand, is the WBA-Fedecentro Champion of the category and is in a good moment with two consecutive victories and one controversial defeat before that. The American has a great opportunity in front of him and his only goal is to take advantage of it to become world champion.

Lara has a record of 27 wins, 3 losses, 3 draws, and 15 KOs, while Lamanna has a record of 30 wins, 4 losses, 1 draw, and 12 KOs.
