The second stop of the Future WBA Champions, a program created by the president of the WBA Gilberto Jesus Mendoza to support amateur boxing and athletes on their way in the Olympic route, had a stop in Las Vegas for a great event that was organized in conjunction with the Center Ring Boxing Foundation and was also endorsed by USA Boxing.
Named “Christmas Boxing Night,” the evening featured more than 10 fights of young boxers from the United States and Mexico, who participated in three-round three-minute battles.
Great rising talents such as Fernando Munoz, Mose Pride, Pedro Munoz, Arian Arango, Felipe Cruz, Raul Lara, Henry Huang, Eduardo Pinheiourand and Marc Anthony Miranda achieved tremendous triumphs during the day.
The most important fight, however, was the final fight in which Cristian Corun beat Vincent Dean in a great performance in the 152-pound elite category, to earn the prize for best boxer of the day.
The athletes who participated belong to several gyms in the city; among which is Johnny Toccos, Pound 4 Pound, Boe Boxing, LV Fight Club, Fight Capital HI Boxing, Fernando Vargas FF, Mayweather Boxing Gym, Richard Steele BC, Bo Adam’s and Barry’s Boxing.
The WBA will continue to support various events such as the next stop in Louisiana which will define several places for the United States team.
Las Vegas, a boxing mecca, was an excellent place to which the WBA hopes to return very soon to continue supporting the great talent that exists in the city and watch closely all the champions of tomorrow.
