Liborio Solis (25-5-1, 11KO’s) will be fighting Jamie McDonnell (29-2-1, 13KO’s) for McDonnells WBA world bantamweight world title on November 4th in Monte Carlo.

The two fought last November for McDonnells WBA title, with McDonnell getting the unanimous decision nod in a fight that some had Solis winning.

Solis is ranked number three in the WBA bantamweight rankings and took the time to talk about why the outcome of the fight will be different this time.

“The mistake I made in the last fight was to coast in the late rounds, I lowered my output, because I thought I was comfortably in the lead and just needed to maintain the pace.”

Solis does not expect to see anything new from McDonnell, saying that he does not believe McDonnell will offer any more dimensions to game.

Solis does, however, believe that McDonnell is a very good boxer but he simply believes that he pushed him to the limit in their first fight and he will have nothing new to offer in the rematch.

“I have improved both the physical aspects and the defense of my game,” said Solis, “and also I will bring more dimensions, since we know that McDonnell is a pretty good boxer.”

Solis has even changed up his training camp for this fight. He aspires to win the WBA world title to become a champion and is not going to leave any stone unturned in his preparations.

“Since I moved to Panama my concentration has changed. For training I do not ever miss a single day here and I have many coaches who help me correct what I do wrong.”

Solis is very confident that the changes in his training camp and methods will be the difference in winning the upcoming rematch. He will surely need to do everything he can in order to capture the world title from McDonnell.
