Almost two months after meeting in the ring, the American-Honduran Teofimo Lopéz and the Australian George Kambosos Jr. officially presented their fight at a press conference held in Atlanta by the company Triller and its famous “Triller Fight Club” edition. The fight will be held on June 5th in Miami, and will be Pay-Per-View (PPV).

The presentation of Lopéz and Kambosos was preceded by the co-feature fight, where the legendary Evander Holyfield, who will end more than a decade of retirement to fight six rounds against Kevin McBridem, the latter known for retiring Mike “Iron” Tyson, Holyfield’s former arch-rival in his best days.

After the participation of the heavyweights, where tranquility and order prevailed, it was time for the new blood, “El Takeover” and “El Ferocious” took the stand and as soon as they took the microphone, the press room lit up and there was even a lot of slapping in between.
The world champion was clear, as usual.
“Kambosos is in my way at the moment, I gotta move him to the side and move to the guys everyone wants to see me fight next” he said.

“We added Cuban Jorge Rubio to the team, but it’s not because we need anything, but to reinforce and help my father. We’ve been together for 20 years and we haven’t lacked anything. What you saw against Lomachenko was just a taste of what I have to show, so be prepared,” he added.

“I have nothing personal against anyone, but I am a star and the fans want entertainment.” Delving into star status he said, “It’s good to be a star and be treated like one, but I don’t sleep on it, I’m always hungry and I want to become the first man to be an absolute champion in two divisions (135 and 140).

“I predict a fight that everyone wants to see and enjoy, it will be short, but without lowering the pace of work and camp. Just as it was with Lomachenko, we made a work plan and we executed it, that’s how it’s going to be that night,” he concluded.

The challenger, supported by his ferocity, family sacrifice and focus, held absolutely nothing back.

“Beating Teofimo, would place me among the best or at the top of Australian boxing. I’m focused on taking everything from this kid and giving him some lessons in loyalty. They have talked about knocking me out fast, but they are wrong, I don’t come to fight 3 or 4 rounds, I am preparing for every round”, he said.

“This goes beyond the ring, my family and I are sacrificing, I have abandoned my pregnant wife and my children to be in the camp and I will make this worth it,” he said.

“I have had a difficult path since I was a child, nothing has been given to me, I achieved this fight based on sacrifices and beating my opponents in their homes. Not being the favorite motivates me more, because I have never been and it adds more pressure for him (Teófimo), who is obliged to prove”, he culminated.

Lopéz (16-0, 12 KO ‘s) and his mandatory opponent Kambosos Jr. (19-0, 10 KO’s), will fight for the WBA Super Lightweight Super Championship and the IBF (M) and WBO 135 lbs. titles, in an event that will be produced by Triller in association with DiBella Entertainment and broadcast by Fite TV in the United States.
