Adam Lopez will defend his WBA Fedelatin super bantamweight title against Roman Ruben Reynoso over a scheduled 10 rounds at Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut, on Friday, July 22.
Fighting out of San Antonio, Texas, 25-year-old Lopez is a four-year ring vet (15-0, 7 KOs) who scored the vacant title (as well as the vacant WBC Latino super bantamweight belt) last July by beating Eliecer Aquino via majority decision. Sixth-ranked by the WBA, undefeated “Mantequilla” successfully defended his WBA title in his most recent fight, this February, by beating Mario Munoz via unanimous decision.
Also 25, Reynoso is a five-year pro (18-1-1, 7 KOs) who scored the South American featherweight title last June by beating Sergio Manuel Medina via unanimous decision. “220 Voltios” was knocked out in the first by Matias Carlos Adrian Rueda in July 2012 and drew against Fernando Miguel Romero in October 2013. He last fought this May, beating Cristian Arrazola by unanimous decision. The bout took place in Canada, Reynoso’s first fight outside his native Argentina.
The bout will air on Showtime.
