Puerto Rican Najee Lopez will face Dominican Gilbert Castillo this Friday for the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental North America Light Heavyweight belt.

The ProBox TV event will have both Caribbean fighters facing each other in the main event in an interesting generational duel that will take place in Plant City, Florida.

Lopez is an undefeated puncher who debuted in 2021 and has made his entire career in the United States. The 25-year-old fighter made three fights during 2024 against good level opponents and that good schedule has brought him to this bout.

Castillo appears to be the most experienced opponent Lopez has had due to the number of good opponents he has faced in his professional carrer. He has fought the likes of Dmitry Bivol, Callum Smith, Albert Ramirez, among others. He will try to use all that experience to his advantage even though he is not living the best moment of his career.

Lopez has 12 wins in his professional career, 9 of which have been by knockout. In Castillo’s case, he has 25 wins, 6 losses, 1 draw and 19 wins by knockout.
