Israil Madrimov and Michel Soro are ready for their World Boxing Association (WBA) super welterweight eliminator fight this Saturday at the O2 Arena, London. This Friday they cleared the final pre-fight hurdle and made the division’s regulation weight.
Madrimov’s weight was 153.12 pounds and Soro weighed 153.10, both considerably below the weight limit required by the division.
It will be their second fight in a row after Madrimov knocked out Soro in December but with a refereeing error influencing the outcome. The WBA ordered a direct rematch and now the winner will keep the right to challenge the world champion.
Madrimov is undefeated in 8 fights, with 6 knockouts, while Soro has 35 wins, 3 losses, 1 draw and 24 knockout victories.
