The Uruguayan Maira Moneo, retained the World Boxing Association Fedelatin lightweight belt against the Argentinean Karen Alaniz on Saturday night. 

Although it was the third time they met in the ring, Moneo was able to show the boxing maturity that continues to develop. She took control of the fight against the young Alaniz from the first round. 

Moneo overwhelmed her opponent with a constant attack to leave no doubt. Finally, after the ten rounds, the judges awarded a unanimous victory to the regional champion of the pioneer organization. The scorecards were: 100-84/99-88,5/100-89.
