Argentine Marcos Rene Maidana is the first figure who has confirmed his attendance at the World Boxing Association (WBA) Centennial Convention, to be held in Orlando, Florida, from December 11 to 14.
Maidana was one of the most impressive punchers boxing has seen in recent years and represents all the values of the organization, since he came from very low and reached the elite through hard work and effort.
He is a very significant figure for the WBA. He participated in the “KO Drugs” program and thanks to that he was able to make himself known around the world, which shows the great success of this project and the talent that exists in the farthest corners of the world.
The Santa Fe native is also remembered for being Mayweather’s most difficult opponent in his golden era and having the chance to face Floyd had a lot to do with his path within the WBA and winning the interim title at a certain point.
“Chino” has also proven to be a great promoter and has promoted Argentine talent with his company in recent years to continue contributing in his new role.
For the WBA it is a great pleasure to have the presence of Maidana in a very special convention for the entity that reached a century of existence.
