American Frank Martin won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental Lightweight title with a seven-round knockout victory over Jerry Perez on Tuesday night at the Shrine Exposition Center in Los Angeles, California.

Martin was dominant throughout the fight and proved to be one of the fighters to keep an eye on in the 135-pound division. In the seventh round, he landed a left hook that sent Perez to the canvas dramatically.

Although he tried to get up, the referee noticed his poor condition and decided that he should not continue fighting, so he stopped the fight and Martin got the victory by knockout.

Martin, a strong southpaw guard and very intelligent contender in the division, won his 13th fight and got the 10th KO on his record. Perez dropped his record to 13 wins, 1 loss, and 10 KOs.
