Christian Mbilli retained his World Boxing Association (WBA) International super bantamweight belt with a knockout over Mark Heffron on Saturday night at the Centre Gervais Auto in Shawinigan, Canada.
The Cameroonian-born Frenchman made his superiority known from the opening bell and gave his British opponent no quarter, knocking him out in the very first round after a combination that sent him to the canvas with no chance of recovery.
Mibilli’s career continues to grow and he picked up another win that brings him closer to his goal of fighting for a world title in the future. The 29-year-old regional champion scored his third consecutive knockout in an important fight as he starred in the main event.
With his win, he reached 27 in his career, 23 of them by knockout. For his part, Heffron left his record at 30 wins, 4 losses and 1 draw.
