Pat McCormack will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental welterweight belt against Ronnie Davies Jr. on February 15 at the Co-op Live Arena in Manchester, England.
McCormack, one of the top British prospects of the moment, has been champion since 2024 when he defeated Tony Dixon by knockout in Sheffield and will be going for the second defense of his regional crown of the pioneering body.
The undefeated 29 year old defender was a silver medallist at the Tokyo Olympics in 2021 and with that record he turned pro the following year. Since making his debut in 2022 he has been facing tougher and tougher opponents and has been coming through each fight in good form to gain more notoriety.
This time his opponent will be Davies, a 35-year-old veteran known for his grit and for not shying away from any fight. He has faced the likes of Henry Lundy, Sergey Lipinets, Lewis Ritson, among others, so experience is on his side. In his most recent fight he defeated Javier Fortuna and is very motivated for this fight.
McCormack has six professional fights, all wins and four by knockout. Davies has 24 wins, 5 losses and 15 knockouts.
