Cuban David Morrell will face Kazakhstan’s Aidos Yerbossynuly this Saturday in Armory, Minneapolis, in defense of his World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight title.
The champion will face the WBA’s top challenger in a fight that generates a lot of uncertainty and in which both have a chance to come out with the victory.
Morrell, 24, is one of the most impressive young talents at 168 pounds. A southpaw guard with polished technique and good footwork, the West Indian also has respectable power and that makes him a very tough fighter to beat.
Yerbossynuly is a very accurate and tough boxer who has beaten good opponents in his recent fights and now earned his title shot in the United States. The 30 year old fighter wants to prove that his strength can prevail in the ring and take the crown away from the Cuban.
Morrell has 7 career wins, 6 of them by knockout. Yerbossynuly has 16 wins, 11 before the limit.
