World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight champion David Morrell will step into the ring on April 22 to defend his championship against Ghana’s Sena Agbeko at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Morrell and Agbeko will be on the undercard of the card that will feature WBA lightweight champion Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, which will not have the belt on the line.
Morrell is coming off an emphatic victory over Aidos Yerbossynuly and has defended his crown four times to rise as one of the most exciting fighters in the division. The 25-year-old southpaw has great technique but is also powerful and neat in his boxing, so he impresses every time he boxes.
He will face Agbeko, a 31-year-old veteran who is on a roll with four wins in a row, three of which have been by knockout. The African knocked out unbeaten Isaiah Steen in his most recent fight and is one of the main reasons for getting this opportunity.
Morrell comes into the fight with 8 wins, 7 of them by knockout, while Agbeko has 27 wins, 2 losses and 21 knockouts.
