David Morrell will get his first chance to fight in Las Vegas this April 22, when he defends his World Boxing Association (WBA) super middleweight crown against Sean Agbeko at the T-Mobile Arena.
The Cuban will be on the undercard of the evening that will feature Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia as the main event, which is a great opportunity for him and his career.
“It’s a great opportunity that is being presented to me and hopefully I will take advantage one hundred percent, I thank Luisito de Cubas and Al Haymon for this. We are ready to show what we have this April 22 in Las Vegas,” Morrell told Espn’s Salvador Rodriguez.
One possible fight against Davis Benavidez has been rumored, a situation that the southpaw fighter talked about.
“The truth is that I would like to fight Benavidez, I know he would like to fight me, a very interesting fight, the fight that everyone would be waiting for, because it is Cuba-Mexico, and because it’s David Benavidez, I believe that we would fill any stadium”, continued the Antillean fighter.
Returning to the fight on April 22, he could not hide his excitement about being in Las Vegas and fighting in such an important venue.
“It’s my first fight in Las Vegas and my first time on such a big card. I’m not going to tell you that I never thought about it, but I didn’t expect it to happen so fast, it’s a mega opportunity, a super billboard, Gervonta Davis and Ryan Garcia, it’s something great for me and for the fans”, he finished.
