Nonito Donaire and Naoya Inoue complied with the medical check-up for their fight this Thursday for the Super Bantamweight World Championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA), currently held by Donaire.
There were no inconveniences or setbacks for any of the fighters, who proved to be one hundred percent ready to go into the ring at the Super Arena in Saitama, Japan, in a fight that will also mark the end of the World Boxing Super Series, to which these two fighters have arrived thanks to great performances throughout the tournament.
Donaire will make the first defense of the title he won against Ryan Burnett in the semifinals of the competition and will face one of the best pound for pound, who also captured a WBA belt in the bantamweight class. The combat will define the lone ruler of the division for the oldest sanctioning body in the world.
This week the official press conference will be held for the fight and on Wednesday both will rise to the scales to mark the 118 regulatory weight limit of the division.
Naoya Inoue, one of the most impressive fighters in the world today, has 18 wins and no losses, while knocking out 16 rivals. Meanwhile, Donaire comes into the fight with 40 wins, 5 losses, and 26 knockouts.
