The World Boxing Association (WBA) Minimumweight Super Champion Thammanoon Niyomtrong will defend his title against Chyaphon Moonsri this Wednesday, July 20 in Chonburi, Thailand.

Finally, a fight that has been awaited for several years will become a reality. Two of the most successful Thais of the last five years will be face to face and with the belt of the pioneer organization at stake.

Niyomtrong has been champion since 2015 and has more than ten defenses in a row. The WBA champion is 31 years old and is going through the best moment of his career.

Moonsri, an experienced 36-year-old fighter, was WBC champion between 2014 and 2020 with 12 championship defenses. He lost the belt to Panya Pradabsri, against whom he has suffered the two defeats of his career. Now he will have a new opportunity for a world belt and aims to reverse his recent results.

Niyomtrong has 23 wins with 9 knockouts, while Moonsri has 55 wins, 2 losses and 19 knockouts.
