José Oliver Gómez, advisor to the president of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and championship fights supervisor, met with former president of Panama, Ricardo Martinelli, to discuss various projects of the pioneer organization with this important political figure in favor of boxing in Panama.
Gomez and Martinelli held a work meeting to plan a series of projects that will promote the improvement of boxing in Panama and the training and growth of athletes of all ages. Among these initiatives, they talked about creating gyms in the country to benefit the athletes, and organizing events for them to be active.
Martinelli has already participated in activities with the WBA. During his time as president of Panama, he attended and supported the pioneer oganization in carrying out various events with international participation.
Gomez described the meeting as positive and said, on behalf of the WBA, that he is pleased to have made an approach with Martinelli. This means another important step in his work for Panamanian boxing.
