Colombian Oscar Escandón won the super bantamweight 122-lbs vacant interim title of the World Boxing Association in California.
Escandon fought the awkward Canadian fighter Tyson Cave, whom he defeated by Split decision 117-111, 115-113 y 113-115, in twelve rounds.
The new interim champion wins the crown after his second title attempt. His only loss was against the Venezuelan Nehomar Cermeno, in Panama fighting for the championship.
Now Escandón’s record is 24-1, 16 KO’s and Cave’s is 24-2.
