Comibox, the body that governs boxing in Panama, presented its annual awards to the best of the activity in this country and Cuban Pablo Vicente was named Boxer of the Year.
The Antillean resides in Panama and is the international super featherweight champion of the World Boxing Association (WBA) and is a lanky boxer with good technique who has been on the rise.
“I also dedicate this award to Panama, which was the country that welcomed me. Every fight I make, I will always carry the flags of Cuba and Panama”, said the fourth ranked 130 lbs. boxer in a press release from Crítica.
Vicente is WBA regional champion since June 2022. He has defended that belt twice against good level opponents, among them Venezuelan Angel Rodriguez.
The WBA congratulates Vicente for the recognition and wishes that his career continues to grow and continue to achieve achievements in world boxing.
