As part of the January 19th bout at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Filipino Manny “Pac- Man” Pacquiao and American Adrien “The Problem” Broner made a second stop in Los Angeles on Tuesday, a day after making official their duel in New York.
The Waldorf Astoria in Beverly Hills was the scene where the senator and the controversial fighter held a second exchange of words from the initial meeting where they presented the World Boxing Association (WBA) title that is to be on the line.
One of the novelties is that Pacquiao will be accompanied by his former coach of many years, Freddie Roach. And although he is affected by health the Filipino wants him to supervise the training with the entire team. As humble as he is, the eight-time world champion treated Broner with respect, recognized him as a high level opponent and expressed that he hopes to beat him.
“I went back to boxing because it’s my life, I cannot live without doing what I like. With the gloves I represent and motivate to all the Filipinos,” said the senator.
“I promise a great fight for the fans, my rival is careful and one of the best, but I’m going to look for a big victory to prove that I am still boxing at the highest level,” added the Filipino.
For his part, Broner, who has come across the reality that Pacquiao is already talking about a second meeting with Floyd Mayweather in the ring, billed as the “Fight of the Century” the first time around, assured that he will break all plans with a triumph over the Filipino star and future Hall of Famer.
“They are making plans without first having beaten me. I know that Pacquiao is a legend, for that reason I will focus more than ever,” said “The Problem”.
“I do not want to miss the opportunity to make history, I cannot give details of my camp, but that night everyone will see what I bring,” said the challenger.
