Next Saturday, March 27th, Alberto Palmetta will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) International Welterweight title against José Alán Herrera in an event organized by Payne Boxing Series.
The show will take place at the Club Lanús in Buenos Aires, Argentina and will feature five talented fighters.
Palmetta has a great career at the amateur level and his quality has been shown since he made the jump to professional boxing. The San Isidro native won the regional belt in August 2020, returned to the ring in November for a non-title fight, and will now defend it for the first time.
He will fight the veteran Herrera, a Mexican who has been in many battles and will do everything possible to complicate Beto’s night.
The event will also feature boxers like Mirco Cuello, who will face Héctor Gusmán in a six round Super Bantamweight bout. Dominican Frency Furtanato Saya will also be in action against local Alberto Melián in a 10-round fight at 122 pounds.
The WBA continues to support regional boxing and applauds these types of events that give activity and development to the great talents of the continent.
