The WBA super-light interim champion, the Venezuelan Johan Perez, got a TKO victory over the Dominican Fernando Monte De Oca, at the end of the tenth round, after the latter and his corner decided not to continue the fight where he was about to kiss the canvas in several occasions.

This was the main card of the night called “The Challenge”, held on Saturday night at the Vargas Sports Center in La Guaira, organized by Jupiter Fight Boxing, headed by Jose Macheck y Gregory John, who made a great effort to present a very attractive and well organized boxing show.

The Perez-Monte of Oca fight was tedious at the beginning, since they were seeking each other and were throwing punches, missing the opponent. However, in the eighth round Perez received a head-butt and was cut near the left eye, it encouraged him and in an exchange he sent the Dominican to the canvas.

In the following chapters the Caracas born boxer, maintained his relentless attack and connected his opponent repeatedly, who clinched to avoid falling. At the end of the tenth round, Montes De Oca stayed in his corner and was called Johan Pérez’ victory by TKO, to retain his WBA interim super lightweight belt.

Another main card of the night was the Interim Super Featherweight title fight between the Venezuelan Ogleidis Suárez, where there was an interesting punch exchange from the first to the last bell. The Colombian Calista Silgado, tried to put an end to the actions with one blow during the fight, however Suarez the best boxing prevailed and allowed her to place the best shots and take the victory by unanimous decision.

After the fight Ogleidis explaned that the situation she had with at the weigh-in, was due to her personal scale, that marked a different weight from the official making her believe that she was below weight required for the division.

In the Fedelatin mínimum title fight, Alexis Díaz defeated Colombian Jorle Estrada by TKO, after the latter did not came out of his corner in the fifth round.

Mayerlin Rivas scored a unanimous decision over Dominican Liliana Martinez, to win the “Rufo John” Trophy as homage to the diseased promoter.

The Zulian Super Featherweight Jaider Parra defeated Rafael “El Potro” by KOT in two rounds. Kenny Cano from Aragua defeated Nohel Arambulet Jr. by unanimous in the light flyweight division. In the bantamweight division, Jesús Vargas defeated José Larreal by unanimous decision; and Super Featherweight weight Roger Gutiérrez defeated by TKO 1 the debutant José “Niño” from Caracas.
