Caleb Plant is facing the biggest opportunity of his professional career. He will step into the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas to face Saul Alvarez on November 6 in a bout that will feature the World Boxing Association (WBA) Super Middleweight Super Championship.
The IBF, WBC and WBO belts will also be at stake, so the winner of the fight will be the undisputed champion of the category. For Plant Canelo is a difficult but not impossible challenge and the American wants to surprise the world with a victory over him who is considered the current best pound-for-pound fighter.
“I feel very good. I feel like I have a great team around me. When the bell rings, I can’t wait to show the world what I can do,” said the 29-year-old fighter.
Plant is confident with his preparation and thinks it will be key to get a victory on November 6: “I’m relaxed. We have half of the preparation finished and my weight is good. I don’t think I need to be any more motivated than I already am to fight for the four titles. We’re just planning to finish this camp the same way I started it, and that’s at a high level.”
About his ability and boxing, the American believes he has tools and that in several aspects he is superior to Canelo.
“I think there are a handful of things I’m better at than Canelo in the ring. But the only way to find out is to witness it on November 6,” Plant said.
