British youngster Hopey Price will have a new opportunity to show his ability and capacity inside the ring when he faces experienced Frenchman Thomas Masson on January 18 at the Utilita Arena in Newcastle.
Price and Masson will contest the vacant World Boxing Association (WBA) continental super bantamweight title. The bout will take place on Matchroom Boxing’s Matchroom Boxing event, which will feature the fight between Cyrus Pattison and Chris Jenkins as the evening’s headliner.
Price is a 22-year-old who has been a professional since 2019 and has been making a good name for himself in world boxing with each of his performances. A refined technique, combined with occasional power and a southpaw guard, make him an interesting fighter and one who improves with each fight.
Masson is an experienced 34-year-old fighter who has won three of his last four fights and always puts on a good show in the ring.
Price’s record is 9 wins, no losses and 3 knockouts, while Masson has 20 wins, 5 losses, 1 draw and 7 KOs.
