Eric Priest passed a big test on Thursday night and became the new World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental North America super middleweight champion by defeating Tyler Howard by unanimous decision at the Commerce Casino in Commerce, California.

The 26-year-old fighter knew he had a great opportunity ahead of him and had to deliver to become regional champion. Not only did he prevail in the bout, but he did it in near perfect fashion with three 100-90 scorecards that are evidence of his dominance in the ring.

Priest was facing a more experienced opponent but was able to dominate him thanks to his good boxing, which allowed him to get a win without too much trouble in the main event of the Golden Boy event.

The Texas native remains undefeated in his career with 15 wins and 8 knockouts. For his part, Howard left his record at 20 wins, 3 losses and 11 knockouts.
