The clash between Alberto Puello and Rolando Romero for the World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight title will be exactly one month from today at The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, at the Chelsea Ballroom.
The Dominican will make the first defense of his belt against the peculiar and mediatic American of Cuban descent.
“La Avispa” Puello is a lanky, southpaw fighter who tries to keep his opponents at bay by taking advantage of his height and reach. The 28-year-old boxer knows how to walk the ring, throw constant combinations and counterpunch to take advantage on the scorecards and dominate fights with technique and good boxing.
“Rolly”, on the other hand, has a rough but effective style. He never delivers a single strategy and usually changes depending on his opponent. He can fight on the counterattack or be aggressive, knows how to handle his left hook very well and has power in his fists, making him an enigma in each of his fights.
The bout will be the main event of the night on May 13 and will be an interesting clash of styles. Puello is undefeated in 21 fights with 10 knockouts. Romero has 14 wins, 1 loss and 12 knockouts.
