Venezuelan Albert Ramirez won the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin light heavyweight title with a unanimous decision victory over Argentine Facundo Nicolas Galovar this weekend at the Casino Buenos Aires, in Argentina.
The southpaw fighter dominated almost the entire bout and the judges ruled 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92, to win the first professional championship of his career.
With a quite technical boxing, combined with a respectable punch, Ramirez was able to keep at a distance a messy but dangerous and insistent Galovar, who at all times tried to find the humanity of the winner with his punches.
Ramirez knew how to limit the style of his opponent, work at a distance and use his combinations well to achieve an undisputed victory. He is now the new Fedelatin champion and remains undefeated in 12 appearances with 11 knockouts. In Galovar’s case, his record now stands at 13 wins, 7 losses, 2 draws and 8 knockouts.
