Maribel Ramirez will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) super flyweight crown next Friday, June 24 against Clara Lescurat in one of the most interesting fights of the pioneer body’s KO Drugs Boxing Featival to be held in Buenos Aires.
The XXXVIII edition of this event will have a lot of talent and several interesting fights, among them, the world championship showdown between the Mexican champion and the Argentinian challenger is one of them.
The 34-year-old veteran Ramirez will be looking to make the third defense of the belt, which she won in May 2018 when she defeated Peruvian Linda Lecca. In October of that same year she defeated Japan’s Anita Seki, while last April she drew with Chile’s Daniela Asenjo to retain it for the second time.
Lescurat is 34 years old and undefeated in her career. She is the mandatory challenger since she is the owner of the gold belt of the category and will be very motivated to fight at home. She is coming off a win over Nataly Delgado in her most recent fight in March.
Ramirez has 15 wins, 9 losses, 3 draws and 3 knockouts, while Lescurat has 6 wins, no losses and 3 knockouts.
