In what should have been a tough challenge, Venezuelan Albert Ramirez solved in a fast way with a one round knockout against Argentine Braian Suarez and captured the World Boxing Association (WBA) Continental Americas title during the KO Drugs of Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The second day of bouts of the festival took place on Friday night and Ramirez faced Suarez in a duel of undefeated fighters that had raised many expectations due to the quality of both fighters.
However, the former Venezuelan national team fighter imposed his power from the start and managed to hurt Suarez with a combination that took him to the canvas early. The Argentinian got up and tried to recover but Ramirez went on the attack and crossed him again with a left and a right that sent him back to the canvas to hear the count of 10 without being able to stand up.
Ramirez captured the regional title and continues to rise. The 30-year-old now has 14 wins, 13 by knockout, while Suarez has 17 wins, 1 loss and 16 knockouts.
