The trials and tribulation of Guillermo Rigondeaux may be coming to an end.

The WBA super bantamweight champion in recess, Guillermo Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KOs), the slick undefeated southpaw from Miami by way of Santiago de Cuba, Cuba, has a spot on the undercard of Saturday’s superfight at the Mandalay Bay Events Center between Miguel Cotto and Canelo Alvarez.

Having recently signed with Roc Nation Sports, he is leaving his troubles behind as he prepares to step into the ring, for the first time in 11 months, against hard-hitting Drian Francisco (28-3-1, 22 KOs), from Agoncillo, Batangas, Philippines, in a 10-round super bantamweight attraction.

“We are thrilled to add Guillermo Rigondeaux, one of boxing’s best pound-for-pound fighters, to what we believe is the biggest night in boxing this year,” said David Itskowitch, COO Boxing of Roc Nation Sports. “On Nov. 21, fans at the Mandalay Bay Events Center and those watching at home on HBO Pay-Per-View are in store for an event that will bring them even more bang for their buck with the addition of Rigondeaux vs. Drian Francisco.”

Rigondeaux is as excited about Saturday’s fight as David Itskowitch.

“This is a great platform to take my career to the next level,” he said, “and to showcase my talents on the big stage. While I’ve been sidelined for the past year, I am grateful for the opportunity to deliver a show to all the boxing fans that have supported me throughout this journey, and I look forward to delivering my best come fight night.”

When he is at his best, which appears to be all the time, he is unstoppable.

“I’m elated to be able to fight against a great champion like Rigo,” said Francisco. “I want to make a statement and steal the show. I was prepared to fight this month and when the call came, I didn’t think twice about it. This is a great night to be part of on November 21.”

The night of “The Jackal” is fast approaching.

We finally get so see Rigondeaux rock ‘n’ roll in the ring again.

The HBO Pay-Per-View telecast begins Saturday night at 9:00 PM ET/6:00 PM PT.
