Lewis Ritson will return to the ring on October 17th to defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Intercontinental Super Lightweight title against former world champion Miguel “Títere” Vázquez at the Newcastle Arena in Newcastle, England.
Britain’s Ritson returns to action after almost a year on the sidelines due to the pandemic break, which left him out of action during 2020. The 26-year-old boxer has three victories in a row and hopes to continue climbing the WBA ranking, where he is currently in second place.
As for Vazquez, he is not in the best moment of his career but he intends to return to the path with a good fight and win the Intercontinental belt, which would put him on the verge of better opportunities. The 33-year-old Mexican boxer comes from a victory in December 2019 and will appeal to his experience to seek victory.
The event will be hosted by Matchroom Boxing and has six confirmed fights for October 17th.
Ritson has 20 wins, one loss, and 12 KOs in his professional career. Vazquez has 42 wins, 9 losses and 16 KOs.
