Venezuelan Roger Gutierrez returned to the ring with a resounding victory over Dominican Henry Delgado this Friday night at the Tibisay Hotel in Maracaibo Venezuela, winning the World Boxing Association (WBA) Fedelatin super featherweight title.
The former world champion knocked out the visitor with a body punch in the second round in a short bout in which he showed his dominance and also managed to knock him down in the first round.
Gutierrez was coming off a world title loss to Hector Garcia in August last year and had to win in his comeback to get back on the winning track and look for another title shot.
The 27-year-old fighter said he felt great during the fight and got the result he was hoping for. Now he will look to keep climbing and winning fights that will allow him to keep getting closer to his goal.
It was the 27th victory in Gutierrez’s career, who has 4 defeats, 1 draw and 21 knockouts. In the case of Delgado, his record is 20 wins, 2 losses and 14 knockouts.
