Daniel Roman and T. J. Doheny are ready to fight for the Super Bantamweight Championship of the World Boxing Association (WBA) at the Forum in Inglewood, California. This Thursday the weigh-in ceremony for the unification bout took place, and both were within the 122 pound limit of the division.
The champion Roman, native of California, came in at 121.2 pounds, while his challenger, from Australia, tipped the scale at 121.8 pounds, which leaves them enabled to fight for the black and gold belt of the WBA for the weight class.
Roman will comply with the fourth defense of his crown, which he won in September of 2017 against Shub Kubo. The descendant of Mexican roots has defended his crown against Ryo Matsumoto, Moises Flores, and Gavin McDonnell consecutively. For his part, Doheny, who is also a world champion, will seek to continue his rise in the world while trying to capture a new crown.
The American has a record of 26 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw, and 19 knockouts, while Donehy has a balance of 21 victories, no losses, and 15 knockouts.
