The promotional activities for this Saturday’s show at the Mohegan Sun Casino, in Uncasville, Connecticut, continued this Wednesday with a press conference for the boxing card that will feature two World Boxing Association (WBA) Championship fights.

Jeison Rosario will defend his WBA Super Welterweight Super Championship against Jermell Charlo in a unification fight, while Brandon Figueroa will defend his Super Bantamweight Championship against Damien Vazquez, and they all were present before the press.

Rosario knows that he is facing a great opportunity and stressed that his opponent will be the most complicated he has ever had in his career. He said he is prepared for a long fight but has the power to end it early if the conditions are right.

“People will see on Saturday that it was not a coincidence that I defeated Julian Williams the way I did. This is going to be a war. I am a warrior and I will find a way to win. That’s all I have in mind. I don’t feel any pressure, it’s an obligation, not only for my family, but for all of Latin America, to win these titles”, said the Dominican champion.

For his part, Charlo said that he does not know how the fight will end but he has learned many new things in recent years and feels like a different fighter since his defeat against Harrison in 2018.

“Just being on this stage makes you buckle up and concentrate much better. I’m 30 years old and I want to push myself and keep testing my limits. That’s what has brought me here today. I’m confident in my abilities and I’m going to pull some new tricks out of my hat”, said the American.

As for Figueroa and Vazquez, both promised war and to end the fight before the limit. The two 122-pound fighters were confident in their performance and motivated to put on a great show.

“I feel that this fight will not last long because I had a great training camp. I keep getting better and stronger and I’m ready to prove that on Saturday night”, said Figueroa.

“If he says the fight won’t last beyond round six, then he’s going to have to work hard. I’ll make sure that it’s total war. May the best man win. I’m sure it will be me. Plain and simple”, replied a highly motivated Vazquez.

Now it’s just a matter of getting on the scale on Friday and everything will be ready to fight for the belts of the pioneer organization on the PBC event, to be broadcast on Showtime.
