Spain’s Sandor Martin, seventh ranked in the super lightweight division of the World Boxing Association (WBA), will defend his European belt for the second time this Friday against Briton Kay Prospere at the Palau Olímpic Vall d’Hebron, in Barcelona, Spain.
Both fighters completed the weigh-in ceremony on Thursday for the event organized by Matchroom Boxing. Martin weighed 139.5 pounds, while Prospere stopped the scale at 139.7 pounds, which leaves them both ready to fight for the belt.
Martin, 27, has the intention to keep on winning fights, move up in the rankings, and get a world title shot. Before that, he will have to beat Prospere, a 36-year-old veteran who holds the BBBofC title and who has not lost a fight since 2016.
The native of Spain comes into the fight with a record of 37 wins, 2 losses, and 13 KOs, while the challenger owns a record of 14 wins, 1 loss, 1 draw, and 7 KOs.
