Eleven months away from the ring has been a lot for Seniesa Estrada but also for boxing. The sport has missed “Super Bad” during her absence, however, this weekend in Las Vegas she will step into the ring against Argentina’s Jazmin Villarino in a big fight.
Estrada will defend her World Boxing Association (WBA) minimumweight championship against the South American in the co-main event of the fight for Top Rank, her new promotional company.
The American of Mexican descent is one of the best fighters in the world and one of the most devastating, so her fans always want to see her in action. On Thursday, the final press conference was held in which Estrada and Villarino talked about their expectations and what this fight means to both of them.
Estrada was happy to be back and highlighted the great opportunity she has to show that women’s boxing continues to grow and that she is one of the faces of the sport.
Villarino showed herself motivated and eager to ruin Estrada’s night. The Argentinean earned the right to face the champion and knows that there is no better place to surprise and show the world what she is capable of.
This Friday, both women will step on the scales to make the 105-pound weight limit and be qualified for Saturday’s bout at the Palms Casino Resort.
