Undisputed bantamweight champion Claressa Shields will return to the ring to face Hanna Gabriels in a rematch on June 3 at the Little Ceasars Arena in Detroit, Michigan.
It will be their second fight, who clashed in June 2018 in a super middleweight fight that ended in a unanimous decision victory for Shields, but which had many exciting moments and in which the champion touched the canvas in the very first round.
Now, they will face each other for the World Boxing Association (WBA), WBC, IBF and WBO middleweight belts, all held by Shields.
Claressa is coming off a win over Savannah Marshall to become undisputed champion and feels it’s time to return home after that last fight in London. Detroit will get a chance to see the Michigan native in action in such an important bout.
Gabriels, has won world titles in several divisions and currently reigns supreme at heavyweight. She will be moving down in weight for her rematch and has been working hard in Costa Rica for the past few months.
Shields comes in with a record of 13 wins, no losses and 3 knockouts. Gabriels has 21 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 12 knockouts.
