American Kenneth Sims Jr. became the new World Boxing Association (WBA) super lightweight intercontinental champion by knocking out Argentine Cristian Ruben Mino this Sunday at the Caribe Royale Hotel in Orlando, Florida.
Sims Jr. settled the fight in the fifth round after showing superiority throughout the bout. The American knocked the South American down once in the fourth round and twice in the fifth forcing the referee to stop the action after such punishment.
The Chicago native is 28 years old and won his fifth straight fight, which helps him continue to move up in his career and look for better opportunities in the immediate future.
With this victory, his record stands at 18 wins, 2 losses, 1 draw and 6 knockouts, while the loser’s record stands at 22 wins, 6 losses, 2 draws and 17 knockouts.
