Errol Spence Jr. did his public training this Thursday in the midst of his preparation for his welterweight unification bout against Yordenis Ugás. The American will face the Cuban on April 16 with the WBA, IBF and WBC belts on the line at the AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

Spence is considered one of the best pound-for-pound fighters today and holds the IBF and WBC belts. He will seek the black and gold title against Ugas in his next fight.

“Training camp has been great. I’ve had great sparring partners and we’ve been focused. I got a nutritionist and it’s made it a lot easier for me to cut weight,” the 32-year-old fighter assured in a press release issued by Swanson Communications.

The lanky fighter highlighted his talent, which he considers far superior to the rest of the elite 147-pound boxers.

“Even half of me would beat most of these guys at the highest level. I feel great right now and I’m 100 percent. Physically I’m sharp and everything feels very regular,” said Spence, who is coming off an injury that took him out of action for months.

He also had words for Ugas, whose style is uncomfortable for any boxer, but assured he has the tools to counter any strategy of the Cuban.

“I have everything in my arsenal. Whatever Ugas brings to the table, I’m ready for it. I’m going to dictate the pace and control everything. I’m making him fight my fight,” he stressed.

As we enter the month of the fight, the boxing world is starting to focus on it and these days will be full of information and debate about this great unification bout.
