The passing of great Mexican promoter Reginaldo Küchle, who died this Saturday at the age of 77 from a heart attack, has left a huge void in the world of boxing. The World Boxing Association (WBA) and its directorate are deeply saddened by the death of a man who did so much for the sport.
Küchle was one of the most important promoters of Mexico and founder of the legendary company Promociones del Pueblo. He worked for about 45 years in boxing and also had a hand in wrestling.
His company has an alliance with Televisa and promoted all the events together. Mr. Küchle organized more than 300 fights in all the Mexican territory and everyone in the boxing world is grateful to him for this great work.
Among the boxers that he had under his promotion are Jhonny González, Marco Antonio Rubio, Jessica Chávez, Hugo Ruiz, and Irma García.
The WBA sends its heartfelt condolences to his family friends and the Mexican people for the departure of this great man. Rest in peace, Reginaldo Küchle.
