The World Boxing Association (WBA) and the University of Antioquia (UdeA) work hand in hand for boxing and sport in general. This was confirmed by Mauricio Alviar, Rector of UdeA, and Gilberto Jesús Mendoza, President of the WBA, in a meeting held this Friday on the university campus, where they discussed future plans.

Both institutions will work together from October 30 to November 2, during the WBA 96th Convention. The UdeA will host the Medical Seminar and the Journalists Forum that will have specialists in the areas to be discussed. In addition, they ratified their intention to make a long-term agreement to develop research in the field of training and sports medicine.

The main focus of the Medical Seminar will be the fight against doping and topics such as Kinanthropometry and Female Athlete Triad; while the Journalists Forum will be directed by Alberto Salcedo Ramos, who will talk with Oscar De La Hoya and other boxing stars.

Thus, the WBA keeps moving forward to bring an academic and scientific rigor to its activities.
