The boxers who will fight for the three regional World Boxing Association titles this week in Australia and Canada made weight for the body’s major bouts.
Two of the three bouts in which the titles will be at stake will be held in Melbourne, Australia, and their protagonists had no problem making the weight. Undefeated local Jason Moloney (12-0, 10 KO) weighed 119.15 pounds and will defend his WBA-Oceania Super Bantamweight title against Mexican Emanuel Armendáriz (12-2-2, 5 KO), who weighed 121.9 pounds.
At that same evening, Andrew Moloney (12-0, 7 KOs) will defend his WBA-Oceania Bantamweight Championship against Mexican Aramis Solis (16-4, 9 KOs). The Australian stopped the scale at 117.3 pounds, and the Mexican at 117 pounds.
Meanwhile, Ontario, Canada, will also serve as the setting for another WBA Championship. The WBA-NABA Super Lightweight title, owned by local Steven Wilcox (16-2-1, 5 KOs), will be exposed against Mexican Oscar Arjona (13-5, 5 KOs).
