In May, three World Boxing Association title fights will take place in May, they are super flyweight, middleweight and super middleweight.
The first fight will be on May 13 between the British champion Khalid Yafai (21-0, 14KO) and Japan Suguru Muranaka (25-2-1, 8KO) who will fight for the WBA 115 lbs title fight, at the Birmingham Barclaycard Arena, UK.
The second will take place in Tokyo, Japan on the 20 between Cameroon Hassam N’dam (35-2, 21KO) and Nippon Ryota Murata (12-0, 9KO) who will fight for the WBA middleweight regular title. In this division, the Championships Committee eliminated the Interim tite to reduce one more belt in the 160 lbs. division.
Meanwhile on the 27, in Sheffield, England, the Russian Fedor Chudinov (14-1, 10KO) and the brit George Groves (25-4, 18KO) will fight for the 168 lbs. super championship. Previously, the championships belonged to the German Felix Sturm. However, he’s got some unsolved issues, so the WBA championships committee, following its rules, decided to grant a new opportunity for Chudinov to fight for the title.
