Yuttapong Tongdee will defend his World Boxing Association (WBA) Asian bantamweight crown against F. Zaramchhana this Saturday at the SpacePlus Arena in Bangkok, Thailand.
It will be the second defense for the Thai fighter, who has been champion since August last year when he defeated Ryan Ray Ponteras by unanimous decision in 10 episodes. Tongdee’s first defense was in October against Herlan Gomez with an eighth round technical knockout.
He will now go into his second exhibition with home advantage, just as he did in his previous two appearances. He has become a regular fighter in Thailand’s capital and as continental champion he is the opponent to beat in his country.
India’s F. Zaramchhana is a hungry 23-year-old who finds himself with an important opportunity for himself. He is coming off a close split decision loss to undefeated Lalrinngheta Lalrinngheta and now wants to pull off the upset as a visitor.
Tongdee’s record is 9 wins, 0 losses and 5 knockouts. Zaramchhana has 4 wins and 2 losses.
